About Us
Proudly Showcasing Our Community Since 1934
The Picton Show Society hosts the beloved annual event of the Picton Show that brings our vibrant community together for a weekend of fun, tradition, and unforgettable moments. Celebrating everything from agriculture to entertainment, it’s a showcase of local talent, rural heritage, and family-friendly activities that delight visitors of all ages. Whether you’re here for the charm of the animals, the excitement of the Bull Ride, or the friendly competition in the Pavilion, the Picton Show truly offers something for everyone.
Our roots run deep. The Picton A.H. & I. Society traces its heritage back to the early 1880s, with several predecessor organisations working to promote agriculture and community spirit in the region. The modern Society formed in 1934, and the first affiliated Picton Show was held in 1936.
The Picton Show is more than just an event – it’s a celebration of our shared identity. From the spectacular Friday night fireworks to the heartfelt contributions of exhibitors, performers, and volunteers, every moment reflects the passion and pride of our local community.
We can’t wait to welcome you and your family to experience the magic for yourselves. Beyond the annual Show, the Picton A.H. & I. Society also proudly hosts other community events, including the Picton Swap Meet and Picton Markets – each offering unique opportunities for locals and visitors to connect, trade, and celebrate what makes our region truly special.
